This summer, the Cashton School District reached out to the community seeking feedback about considering an operational referendum this November to assist with additional funding for the schools beginning in the 2027-2028 school year.
On August 10th, the Board heard a presentation from Daren Sievers from School Perceptions, the company the district worked with to gather feedback from the community before considering an operating referendum question on the November ballot. The results of the survey are available and can be found below. In addition, School Perceptions has provided a video presentation summarizing the results of the survey.
After careful reflection and discussion based on the valuable survey results and the projected financial position of the school district, the Board decided to reduce the size of the pending resolution to $450,000 annually for three years rather than $500,000 as listed in the survey. We appreciate the information the community shared as this important topic is explored. The Board will meet on Friday, August 14th at 7 pm to record a vote on the draft resolution language and to determine whether to proceed with placing a question on the November ballot.
