The Cashton Community Learning Center is an after-school program coordinated by Cashton School District. The mission and purpose of the program is to provide a safe, educational after-school learning environment for students in grades K-12. The format and programming varies to meet the specific needs and interests of elementary, middle, and high school students. Transportation for students living outside of the village who request it continues to be available in most cases. Routes are developed at the start of the school year that serve as many students as possible within the limits of transportation services. Students enrolling in the program after routes have been created will be added to routes if space is available. As is the case with all academic and recreational activities, consistent attendance is strongly encouraged.
Elementary Program
The program is available for students in grades K-5. The daily schedule includes a snack and homework period followed by activities in reading, mathematics, physical recreation, and general enrichment in a self-contained homeroom setting. A computer adaptive program, iReady, is used frequently to support individual learning needs.
Middle School Program
The middle school program focuses on small group tutoring support. Tutors will monitor academic progress and provide homework guidance. Tutors will communicate with classroom teachers to assure that the time CCLC supports the growth of each student.
High School Program
High School students will have access to the technology and tools needed to complete school assignments, papers, and projects. The opportunity will be great for students who would like to complete work in a quiet and supportive environment. Based on teacher availability, language arts, math, and science teachers monitor the high school program and are available for instructional support.
