The Cashton band program offers a fully comprehensive ensemble experience for students involved. Students in lower grade levels (6th-8th) have the opportunity to learn an instrument and master basic principles of performance through middle school band. This experience includes concert band and one annual marching performance (7th-8th).
The High school band extends the experience with more marching performances, large ensembles for solo/ensemble contest, and the one and only Cashton High School pep band. The marching band performs in three fall parades and also the annual Syttende Mai parade in May. The pep band performs before home conference games for football, volleyball, basketball (boys and girls) and wrestling. High school band is a large commitment for students to undertake. The commitment comes with a rewarding experience of being in an ensemble that receives superior contest ratings and strong community recognition for its quality.
Both the Middle and High School bands offer students the opportunity to participate in District and Regional Honors Bands, Solo and Ensemble contest, State and National FFA band, and other local and regional ensembles outside of school. Being a part of either of our band programs will help each student grow as a musician, community member, and well rounded and responsible citizen.
